well, after what must have seemed years of frustration over the E3/"two weeks" debacle the wait for the official UT2k3 demo is almost over! :beerchug:

Mark Rein posted this today on the official INA forums:

Hi Folks,

The demo is nearly ready to go. It should be out sometime within the next few days. Keep watching this space (the stickies) for an announcement. When it's ready we'll just be releasing it randomly to a few major sites so that hopefully it will spread like wildfire and everyone will be able to get it from their favorite games site. There won't be any special exclusives or anything like that. We want everyone to be enjoying it the minute it goes live.

More details to follow, keep watching this space.[/b][/quote]

head over to the official forums (http://www.ina-community.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=201466) to keep updated on the latest news. 8)

I believe it when I see it. Not saying that they're lying or anything. Just that I'm expecting something unforeseen to happen this week that will delay the release of the demo.

If not: good
If yes: you have been warned http://smilies.clanci.net/tongue.gif

Yeah me too; I believe it when I see it, hehe.
Only 1 CTF-map, 1 DM-map and Bombing run is included, together with 1 model. No Ion-cannon nor deemer.
Hmm, kinda lame imo but they wanted the demo not to be bigger than 100MB.......

Why no ion cannon or deemer...is that thing 5MB in size or what? http://smilies.clanci.net/O_o.gif

i think they:

a) fear that the excessive amount of spammage resulting from those weapons will give the players a bad vibe about the game.

b) want to keep some things for the full version. you still have to buy it, after all. http://smilies.clanci.net/smile.gif

Well, the wait IS over.
Any thoughts/first impressions?

I for one must say I don't like it. http://smilies.clanci.net/sad.gif
It's too "Quakeish", somekinda "plastic" look.
Neat graphics, yes, but the rest......
Imo it's not the UT successor, only a UT-wannabe.

/me goes away crying

I agree with Tinman. My initial impression was awesome, however I believe I confused something 'new' for something 'good'. I feel like I am playing a graphically updated version of q3a with weapons mods. edit: lol stupid mandarin handle
